The 1/4" Thick windshields for aircraft manufactured prior to 1974 are a very difficult to install. They are not recommended.

Piper PA-28-140 Windshield
The windshields arrived and inspected. They looked great upon arrival and in great shape. I installed it on my aircraft and it was a perfect fit to the frame. The only thing that I recommend is that if you have a Cherokee, do not install the 1 inch tape on the top and airframe side since it is not necessary. If you install the tape, it will not fit thru the frame groove. That is why you apply a bead of silicone around the frame edge after installation.
